Dye Sublimation Printing System

Post-Up Stand utilizes the latest techniques in large format digital printing to provide its customers with top-of-the line banner stands and trade show displays for any business convention, in-store marketing campaign or community function. Known for our high-resolution printing output, we incorporate the state-of-the-art dye sublimation fabric printing system into many of our products in order to create vibrant color profiles and sharp graphic prints on a polyester material.

The inventive dye sublimation printing process is a two-step system that produces the final print on a 100% polyester material at Post-Up Stand’s printing and production facility in Maple Heights, OH. The custom digital image is produced as a reverse of the original artwork on a transfer paper. The first step in the dye sublimation printing process is produced by a large format digital printer which produces full-color prints with photo-quality clarity.

The printed transfer paper is then inserted into a Monti Antonio heat press which holds an impressive temperature of 370⁰F for the next step in the printing process. A plain 100% polyester material is also placed in the heat press along with the transfer paper. The graphic is in turn transferred from a solid to a gas without passing through the liquid stage, which prevents the inks from smearing or smudging which can occur with traditional printing methods. The print saturates the fabric and becomes a part of the fibers of the material.

The dye sublimation fabric printing system uses a CMYK color process which creates prints using a mix of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black inks. Since the dye does not pass through a liquid stage, the printed inks tend to produce more vibrant color output than conventional printing techniques. The CMYK colors are not PMS colors, which are solid inks with assigned numbers that allow the colors to appear the same no matter where, or by whom, the print is created.

There are many benefitsof this fabric printing technique including the following:

  • Vibrant color output and sharp graphics
  • Will not smudge or blot
  • Quick drying time
  • Ink becomes a part of the fibers of the fabric
  • Will not fade or get washed out
  • Can be used for indoor or outdoor advertising displays
  • Fabric is machine washable in cold water
  • Can be gently steamed
  • Versatile printed fabric can be used for a variety of display products

Dye sublimation is used in a variety of Post-Up Stand’s banner stands and promotional display products. The popular retractable banner stand, a customer favorite due to the quick and easy setup process, can be purchased with a dye sublimated fabric banner for an additional cost. The Quick Fabric Display, which is available in both floor and table top units, exclusively features the dye sublimated fabric substrate and incorporates a user-friendly pop up display frame. The process is also used in our full-color 6 ft. and 8 ft. Table Covers as well as our outdoor Feather Flags and our durable outdoor Teardrop Banner Stands.
